How to Trade Bitcoin, Litecoin & Crypto Currencies

Do you want to share?

Do you like this story?

Interested in trading Bitcoins?  Buying some Alts?  Getting into Dogecoin?  You should check out Cryptsy then!  It's the premier place to trade crypto currencies.
Why Cryptsy?
Cryptsy is the premier exchange for crypto currencies.  They offer the most amount of crypto currencies available for trade and this means the most options for you.

Trading on Cryptsy

Cryptsy has a very well laid out trading platform, with currency pairs along the left hand side of the screen and the header menu giving you options to take a look at your trading history, check your account balances and even a summary of your open orders so that you can see which orders have executed and which have yet to go through. Take a few minutes to get a feel for the platform; it is important that you know where buttons are in case you want to quickly get in or out of a trade.

Deposits
Now that you have registered an account, you probably want to deposit some coin!  Near the top of the page, you will notice a button that says “Balances”. When you click this button, you can see the current balance of each of your coins.  Then:
  1. Find the coin that you would like to deposit
  2. Along the right hand side of the page click “[Coin] Actions”. (For example, to deposit BTC you would click the “BTC Actions” button
  3. Click the Deposit/Autosell Button
  4. Click Generate New Deposit Address. This will generate a new address for you to deposit into your Cryptsy account
  5. Load up your wallet for whichever coin you would like to deposit, and send coins to the address you generated in step 4 (we recommend CoinBase)
In the future, Cryptsy has plans to register with Florida in the United States in order to allow for USD/altcoin pair trades, which means you can fund with dollars. Until then however, the trades available need to be based on other cryptocurrencies: meaning the vast majority of your trades will most likely be based on either BTC or LTC.  The easiest way to fund is probably using the recently funded CoinBase.  Andreessen Horowitz just gave them $25M so you know they are good!
Check out Cryptsy by Clicking the button below!
When you click the link above, you will see fields to fill in your Name, Username, E-mail, Country, Password, and enter a few Security Questions. After this, simply fill in the Captcha and click “Register New Account” and you will be up and running!
